This was the premiere of SOCCACUP Izola in 2026
The SOCCACUP Izola is deliberately designed around a unique format: international friendly matches, targeted training sessions, team challenges and extended playing times are intended to combine competitive sport with genuine development. For the teams, this meant around 300 minutes of playing and training time, 4 to 6 matches, additional training sessions, team challenges and an intensive weekend in a performance-oriented setting.
SOCCACUP Izola 2026 - Facts
- Date: March 28-31, 2026
- Location: Izola, Slovenian Riviera
- Age groups: U13, U15, U17
- Participating teams: 12

Four days of football, training and competition
A total of twelve teams took part in the inaugural event in Izola, competing in the U13, U15 and U17 age groups. The U13 competition featured an international line-up with teams from Germany, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia, whilst the U15 competition saw teams from Germany and Austria take part. The U17 field consisted of three German teams.
The event kicked off on Saturday with the teams’ arrival and check-in at their accommodation. For some teams, the first training session was scheduled straight away. The Team Challenges were already integrated into this – exercises focusing on dribbling, agility and passing, which ran like a common thread through the entire tournament and were scored separately. The rest of the day was spent settling in and preparing for the upcoming matches.

The tournament got underway on the second day. After breakfast, the teams headed to the venues in Piran and Izola, where the first matches took place in the morning. Following a lunch break at the hotel, further matches were played in the afternoon. Afterwards, the teams had free time, which could be used for rest or joint activities, creating a well-balanced daily routine.
The third day brought the decisive matches. Following training sessions in the morning, the final matches and play-offs were on the programme for the afternoon. Afterwards, at the joint awards ceremony, not only were the tournament winners honoured, but also the best performances in the team challenges.

On the fourth day, the SOCCACUP Izola came to a relaxed close with breakfast and individual departures. Some teams took the opportunity to spend a little more time on the Slovenian Riviera before heading home.
