Review of the SOCCACUP Rovinj 2026

The SOCCACUP Rovinj 2026, one of the biggest international youth football tournaments of our season, took place over the Pentecost weekend. On the picturesque coast of Istria, more than 80 teams from seven nations, over 1,200 players, and around 1,000 fans and spectators gathered to experience an unforgettable football weekend together.

Matches were played in eight age groups, from U09 to U17, at the sports facilities of NK Rovinj and NK Mladost Rovinjsko Selo. In addition to exciting matches, the Mediterranean setting, the friendly atmosphere, and the international field of participants created special tournament moments that went far beyond football.

Four days of football, team spirit, and shared experiences

The SOCCACUP Rovinj began on Friday with the teams’ arrival and check-in at their respective accommodations. Many teams spent the rest of the day exploring Rovinj’s Old Town, enjoying their first hours by the sea, or coming together as a team to kick off the tournament weekend. In the evening, players, coaches, parents, and fans gathered at the Villas Rubin Resort for the official opening ceremony and got in the mood together for the upcoming tournament days.

Saturday was all about sports: After breakfast, the preliminary and group stage matches kicked off at the various tournament venues. Throughout the day, the teams engaged in intense matches, earned crucial points for the standings, and battled for a spot in the final rounds. Between matches, there was plenty of time to enjoy the special atmosphere surrounding the tournament and experience the Croatian coast.

The third day was all about the decisive matches. The final and placement matches began early in the morning, with every position fiercely contested. From thrilling finals to emotional last-minute decisions, the final day offered everything that defines an international youth tournament. The highlight was the award ceremonies for the small-field and full-field teams, where the most successful teams were honored for their achievements.

On Monday morning, the teams finally set off for home—taking with them many new experiences, international friendships, and countless memories of a special football weekend in Croatia.

U9: SV Kapfenberg (AT)

Won every game convincingly and were crowned tournament champions.

U10: FT Freiham (DE)

Conceded only 2 goals in the entire tournament.

U11: SR Donaufeld (AT)

Scored 29 goals in 6 games to win the tournament.

U12: VST Völkermarkt (AT)

Secured the tournament title without suffering a single loss.

U13: NK Ihan (SLO)

Won a close final.

U14: FT Freiham (DE)

Dominated their age group with ease all the way to the final.

U15: NK Rovinj (HR)

Took revenge in the final and was crowned the winner.

U16/17: FT Freiham (DE)

Determined the tournament winner in an all-club showdown.

The SOCCACUP Rovinj 2026 has once again demonstrated what sets our tournaments apart: top-class youth football, international matches, and shared experiences off the field. Teams from seven nations created a diverse field of participants and turned the tournament into a meeting place for young football players from all over Europe.

We would like to thank all the teams, coaches, staff, parents, referees, and volunteers for a fair and successful tournament weekend, and we are already looking forward to the next edition of the SOCCACUP Rovinj.
